Cookie policy
Last updated: 26 September 2026
While this site is in pre-launch it sets no analytics or marketing cookies at all. The table below is the full set used across the Trips Together websites, and what will be used here once measurement is switched on. Nothing beyond the strictly necessary is ever set before you accept.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by the websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to improve performance, and to tell site owners how their site is being used. Similar technologies — pixels and local storage — work in a comparable way.
Cookies we use
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| tt_consent | Trips Together | Stores your cookie preference so we don’t ask again | 1 year |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Counts visits and page views, so we can see how the site is used | Up to 2 years |
| _fbp | Meta (Facebook) | Identifies browsers for advertising and analytics purposes | 90 days |
| _fbc | Meta (Facebook) | Stores click attribution when you arrive from a Meta ad | 90 days |
| ph_* | PostHog | Session analytics on QR landing pages only — the path from a scan to a download | 1 year |
Strictly necessary cookies
The tt_consent cookie is strictly necessary to remember the choice you made about cookies. It does not track you, and it does not require consent.
Analytics cookies
Google Analytics (GA4) tells us in aggregate which pages are visited, where people arrive from and how long they stay. We run it in Consent Mode v2: no cookies are set and no user-level data is collected until you accept. If you decline, Google may still use modelled conversions for aggregate reporting.
Marketing cookies
The Meta Pixel tells us whether people who visit the site later download the app, which lets us show relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram to people who have shown an interest in Trips Together. No Meta cookies are set unless you accept.
How to manage or withdraw consent
You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site’s cookies and reloading the page — the banner will ask again. You can also opt out with each provider directly:
- Google Analytics — the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on
- Meta — the Meta cookie policy
- Everything — your browser’s own controls, under Settings → Privacy → Cookies
